Dear Aubrey,
What’s up bro? Just wanted to say a few things and I hope you read it! First of all, I want to thank you for all of the amazing music you have put out all these years. Whether it’s a mix tape, album, or a guest verse, thank you man. As a fan I appreciate your art and the story telling of your songs. I’ve seen you on Degrassi from time to time and I’ve been a fan since late 2008, early 2009. When I first heard So Far Gone, I was amazed of the quality and originality of it. It sounds just like an album and it’s amazing how you work so hard on anything that you do. I heard the mix tape during a dark stage in my life. I went through a serious, bad breakup with a girl ( I regret even dating her), and I was very sad. { ← Continue reading → }
This may not be a letter on me being bullied or laughed at but Drake seriously saved my life. Since the first time heard him i knew i would love all his music. When ever I’m feeling sad or hurt i know i can listen to Drake to help me get through it and many people do make rude comments about it at school but for years i have ignored them and then saw that they also have started to listen to him. { ← Continue reading → }
Drake, first off I would just like to thank you for making amazing music. Your music is so real and speaks so deeply to me and I just want you to know how much I appreciate all of your hard work and dedication into making such real music. The past few years for me have been hard. My mom was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and I found it extremely hard to cope. { ← Continue reading → }

Dear Aubrey,
I have NEVER in my life followed an artist since the beginning of their career, and it amazes me how I have with you. I remember the first song I ever heard from you was “Replacement Girl” I remember telling my friends “Oh you know this song is so dope, you should listen to it. It’s by this guy named Drake.” then they would reply “Who’s Drake?!” haha it’s crazy how time flies. Ever since then I’ve been a fan, you’re music has helped me get through some of the most difficult times of my life. I remember being at the hospital with my mom day in and day out and I would constantly play your music because it was a way of comforting myself. { ← Continue reading → }
Dear Drake,
I’ve searched for your email for so long but couldn’t find it. Later on I found one but I have no clue if you’ll receive it. Anyways, so I’m going to try this and see if it works. I never really liked rappers or rap music, but then you came. People were telling me about you but I didn’t really bother listen to you or anything because I thought all rappers are the same. I was listening to the radio and Over came up, that’s when I was like Wow that’s good. I started listening to you more and more and here I am now, obsessing over you. Your songs make me happy when I’m totally mad or sad, they always inspire me to keep going. Some people aren’t so supportive about my music writing but when I listen to your songs, focusing on the lyrics I get this feeling that tells me ‘ what the hell, You know i can do this ‘. A heart speaks only to the Rhythm of a beat, and mine speaks to your music. I’ve had this really weird up and down close friendship with someone and one day he just disappeared and we barley talked but that day I read a quote of yours and I was happy. What I’m trying to tell you from all this is that you honestly, truly,make me smile. { ← Continue reading → }
Dear, my bro Drake.
Drizzy. Some people may not know what my LOVE for you is. They always call me the YOUNG MONEY DIE HARD. The day I met you; I cried. I couldn’t help it. I’ve been supporting you since Degrassi & Room for Improvement. & there, sitting there was my brother Drake. Whether this letter gets to you or not, thought I’d send it anyway.
So let me start off by saying, how I never had a male role model in my life to look up to as a BROTHER. Yes, Lil Wayne was there as my mentor. BUT YOU SIR, your lyrics, swag, your view on life, has given me a whole different view of LIFE. I can relate to your music, family, culture & tradition so much. The fact that you’re Jewish & I’m a Muslim, we’re such a great example of CO-EXISTING. Our bond whether it’s through music or twitter shows the world how TOGETHER; WE BENEFIT EACH OTHER. Coming from a family with so many RESTRICTIONS & BOUNDARIES, your music is my escape. With Wayne being my father you being my brother & Nicki being my mother I can truly & finally say that I have a FAMILY. Where I’m not judged. I’m just simply me.
When these fans go crazy for you I know what they’re feeling, we all just become ONE & guess what? YOU’RE THE CAUSE FOR THAT. I know what it’s like to hide my CDs away from my parents, paranoia building up, afraid of REJECTION. But listening to “Fear” or “Say What’s Real” “5am In Toronto” or the whole “Comeback season” has gotten me through all of that, & words will never be enough. People always claiming that “oh Syeda, you’re already rich what do you have to worry about?” They honestly have no idea what it’s like to Start From the Bottom, but YOU DO. & your music can express what I can’t at times. Being the oldest sibling & making sacrifices and not knowing shit about life, I can look UP to YOU & feel alright. I can see life through your eyes. { ← Continue reading → }
where do I begin? I have listened to Drake since about 2008-09. I had listened to a lot of music similar to his, but nothing like what he would speak from his heart! { ← Continue reading → }
